Benefits of Holistic Therapy

Using a “whole person” approach to therapy, we’ll work together to address your challenges. Not only, “what is your mood or are you depressed?”, but how are you sleeping, are you eating well and is your physical health suffering?

Physical challenges, chronic pain or illness can lead to or exacerbate depression, anxiety and hopelessness. Likewise, depression and chronic stress can lead to many physical illnesses – or worse.

Research is clear that exercise (walking, light cardio) can be as beneficial as drugs for treating depression and other mental health challenges. It’s especially helpful with stress and anxiety.  That’s why I offer walk and talk therapy and use other modalities to help you achieve optimal mental and physical well-being.

You always have the choice to sit in the office – or to walk while we talk. I’ve got beautiful routes that maximize nature and minimize traffic and stress.

According to the Mayo Clinic, regular brisk walking can help you:

  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Prevent or manage various conditions, including heart disease, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes
  • Strengthen your bones and muscles
  • Improve your mood
  • Improve your balance and coordination

Whether we sit and talk or walk and talk, my goal is to create a safe, comforting space for you to get relief, strategies and hope to feel better and live a healthier, happier life.  If you are interested in walk-talk therapy, here is additional information.
